Excell Hardy Jr.
Excell Hardy is Co-Founder of TEAM UP. TEAM UP is a non-profit organization that exists for the purpose of empowering youth to become self-sufficient leaders and contributors to their communities. As Founder/CEO, Hardy is responsible for overall implementation and execution of the organization’s mission: to provide youth and community with programs and resources that promote life skill development, healthy living and education.
Hardy also serves as Director of Membership Programming for the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA). The NBRPA is a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a two pronged mission to assist former NBA, Harlem Globetrotter and WNBA players in their transition from the playing court into life after the game, while also positively impacting communities and youth through basketball. Since 2012, Hardy has assisted retired players with programming and benefits in the areas of education, health, finance and career/life transition. Hardy also works to negotiate and manage media and paid appearance opportunities with targeted corporate sponsors and partners for NBRPA members.
Prior to joining the NBRPA, Hardy Founded and served as President/CEO of The Evolution of Advanced Minds LLC (T.E.A.M.). T.E.A.M. was established to connect fledgling small businesses, aspiring artists/entertainers and athletes with the resources necessary to actualize their career goals. T.E.A.M. and its affiliates collectively provided expertise in management, marketing strategy and business development.
Hardy received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Quincy University (QU) in 2008 before becoming a Graduate Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach from 2008 – 2009. In 2006, Hardy helped lead QU Men’s Basketball to a NCAA Division II tournament birth. Upon graduation, Hardy returned to his alma mater, Homewood-Flossmoor High-School (HF) as an Assistant Coach to help develop student athletes in the basketball program. As a student at HF, Hardy was a 3-year starter/Co-Captain on the HF varsity basketball team and helped lead the team to an Illinois State Runner –Up title in 2004. Today, Hardy runs Vikings United – a basketball and baseball feeder program in partnership with HF.
